Dr. Jodi Price was recently appointed dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, & Social Sciences. A longtime psychology professor and researcher, Jodi Price brings a student-centered approach shaped by her own academic journey and research on learning and memory. “I think our biggest strength is our passion for helping our students,” Price said.

Inaugural Engineering Expo connects UAH students with Alabama employers |
UAH hosted its first Engineering Expo on Feb. 20, bringing together students and leading employers from across Alabama for hands-on engagement with engineering careers in aerospace, defense, automotive manufacturing, energy and advanced technologies. Timed with National Engineers Week, the event is intended to become an annual showcase of UAH’s role in workforce development and industry partnership.

Celebrate at the Sapphire Excellence Awards gala |
Join us on Thursday, April 2, as UAH honors alumni, partners and supporters at the inaugural Sapphire Excellence Awards gala. The evening will spotlight five award categories — including Distinguished Alumni Fellows, Graduate of the Last Decade (GOLD), Presidential Community, Charger Champion and Research Impact — celebrating leadership, service and achievement that advance UAH and its impact.

UAH hosts Army Best Drone Warfighter competition |
UAH hosted the inaugural Army Best Drone Warfighter Competition Feb. 17–19 at its UAS and Counter-UAS Test Range. Sponsored by the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) in coordination with the U.S. Army Aviation and Maneuver Centers of Excellence, the three-day competition brought more than 200 Army drone operators to Huntsville for advanced technical and tactical challenges.
“The Huntsville UAS and C-UAS Test Range represents the power of partnership between academia, government and industry,” says Jerry Hendrix, director of the Rotorcraft Systems Engineering and Simulation Center. “UAH is uniquely positioned to support the Army and other federal agencies with advanced research, secure testing environments and a highly skilled workforce pipeline.”

UAH basketball leads postseason charge |
The UAH Chargers women's basketball team opened the Gulf South Conference Tournament at home earlier this week with a record-tying 27th win. UAH entered the tournament as the No. 1 seed after capturing the program's Gulf South Conference regular-season title. They advance to the Gulf South Conference Women's Basketball Championship semifinals on March 5, hosting Trevecca at SportsMED Arena in Spragins Hall.
Meanwhile, the UAH Chargers men's basketball team also earned a home postseason matchup, defeating Valdosta State in the GSC quarterfinals earlier this week. The Chargers will hit the road to match up with the West Alabama Tigers on March 5.

Support the Greek Row Renovation Project |
UAH is engaging in a transformational project on Greek Row that celebrates the legacy, leadership and impact of fraternity and sorority life at UAH. As Greek life continues to grow at UAH with 15 chapters located on the campus, this project will honor the past and invest in the future of Greek life at UAH.
The $4 million renovation will add an open-air plaza designed to bring students together and a Greek Monument Garden recognizing all 15 chapters and their place in the UAH story.
