The Easter Bunny originated from German immigrants who brought over the legend of "Oschter Haws," a rabbit that delivered eggs to well-behaved children.
- Pretzels were originally an Easter food — their crossed shape was meant to represent arms folded in prayer.
- Over 1.5 billion Peeps are produced for Easter every year — making them the best-selling non-chocolate Easter candy.

The date for Easter changes every year, following the first Sunday after the first full moon after March 21.
- Orthodox Easter is on April 12 this year.

Faculty Staff Alumni Pickleball Tournament – April 18, 2-5 p.m. Join Baylor Club Pickleball for a tournament against other staff, faculty, and alumni. The tournament will take place at the Underwood Pickleball Courtyard and you can enter individually or with a BU Team Member. Prizes from Joola Pickleball. Parents Night Out – Enjoy a night out while we take care of the fun! This event is designed for kids ages 5–13 and is packed with engaging activities, games, and entertainment led by our Rec Camp Counselors. Drop your kids off for an evening of excitement in a safe and supervised environment—while you enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself. Spots are limited, so be sure to register early. Spring Break Missions Trips – 145 students and leaders (8 teams across 6 countries) served on mission trips over Spring Break with the department of Missions, Service & Public Life. Our teams worked with partners across the globe, from right here in Waco to as far as Greece. Trips included:

Honors College in Costa Rica - worked with feeding programs, anti-trafficking resources, refugee services, single mother empowerment, and sports camps
- Interior Design in Guatemala - continued a long term partnership renovating a local church by painting a mural

Silver Wings (ROTC) in Guatemala - assisted Interior Design with painting while conducting community home visits, food distribution, and church gatherings
- MAPS and BMSA in the Dominican Republic - medical work in clinics, hospitals, and a local ministry center
- Pre-PA Society in Greece - worked with refugees in pop-up medical clinics
- Business in Guatemala - small business training for local entrepreneurs trying to make a difference in their communities
- BearAid Disaster Relief in San Angelo, TX - rebuilding homes damaged by the floods last summer

Accounting in Amsterdam - helped a Christian nonprofit organization with their accounting needs

Civil Discourse Week – Held last week (March 23-27), 24 events took place with nearly 450 participants in cumulative attendance. More than 95 percent of our assessment survey respondents either strongly agreed or agreed that they have a better understanding of healthy civil discourse as a result of attending a Civil Discourse Week event. Intercultural Engagement is grateful for all who contributed to fostering a culture of respectful dialogue across lines of difference.

- Sic'Em Slam – Many thanks to the amazing students and staff who participated in the third annual Sic'Em Slam this past Friday! Special thanks to the Baylor Activities Council for being such great event partners.

March 29–April 1: FM72 – Our students will be gathering under Jesus’ name for 72 hours of prayer on Fountain Mall, asking that God would bring revival and renewal to our campus and city. Each night at 8 p.m. we will gather together to worship, pray, and hear from God’s Word.
We will be praying all day and night, so feel free to join us as much or as little as you can between classes or late into the night as we passionately seek God together!

This past week, the Baylor Zeta Tau Alpha sorority held their annual Pie-A-Prez fundraiser supporting their philanthropy: Breast Cancer Awareness and Research. Some familiar faces like our Student Body President were sufficiently pied, and the event raised almost $60,000 toward an amazing cause.
