| Stetson welcomed hundreds of new students to campus on August 15 for move-in day and the start of the 2026–27 academic year. Students and families arrived from across the country, greeted by faculty, staff, student volunteers and university leadership.

What’s New on Campus
| | Stetson is welcoming students back to campus with exciting updates that enhance student life and reflect the university’s continued growth. Students will find new dining options, including smoothies at The Coffee Shop, along with expanded dining hours and upgraded weekend brunch.
| Lynn Hall is now fully occupied and features new spaces for Presidential Fellows and Stetson’s inaugural LAW READY Living and Learning Community. The campus has also welcomed new spiritual and wellness staff to expand support for students, while new green space has been created following the demolition of Smith Hall. These improvements continue Stetson’s tradition of creating a vibrant campus while strengthening the experiences and connections that make the university special.

Stetson Again Named National College of Distinction for 2026-2027
| | For the fourth consecutive year, Stetson University has been named a National College of Distinction for 2026–27, earning eight additional national recognitions for academic excellence, career development and student support.
| The honors include recognition for the School of Business Administration and Department of Education, as well as career development and support for military-affiliated and international students. Colleges of Distinction highlighted Stetson’s engaged students, dedicated faculty, vibrant community and successful outcomes.

Stetson University Announces Tampa Law Center Redevelopment
| | Stetson University announced plans to amplify its presence and deepen its long-standing commitment to Downtown Tampa through a transformative redevelopment initiative in partnership with Bromley Companies, a trusted developer that recently unveiled Midtown Tampa.
| The project will modernize our Stetson Law Tampa campus and create a vibrant, mixed-use space in a currently underutilized area. Situated on 6.5 acres in the lively Tampa Heights district near the Hillsborough River and Interstate 275, the Tampa Law Center has served Stetson students, alumni, legal professionals and the broader community for more than 20 years.

“Solmates Coffee”
| | Stetson alumni Julia Fivner ’21 and Sofia Andreocci ’23 turned a shared passion for coffee and community into Solmates Coffee, a mobile coffee and matcha cart serving the New Smyrna Beach area.
| After meeting at Stetson and remaining close friends, the two launched the business as a way to bring people together. Through local pop-ups, Solmates Coffee has become a gathering place where customers can slow down, connect and enjoy a thoughtfully crafted drink.

| | Sharife Gacel, LMHC, a graduate of Stetson’s M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling program, has been selected as a main stage speaker for TEDxOrlando this October.
| Her talk, part of this year’s The Space Between theme, will explore the science of awe and its impact on mental health, including how experiences like looking at the night sky can help shift perspective and manage stress and anxiety.
