Acts 19: 21 -22
21 After all this had happened, Paul decided to go to Jerusalem, passing through Macedonia and Achaia. “After I have been there,” he said, “I must visit Rome also.” 22 He sent two of his helpers, Timothy and Erastus, to Macedonia, while he stayed in the province of Asia a little longer.

New International Version (NIV)
Sir Edmund Hillary failed in his first attempt to climb Mt. Everest. When asked if he would give up the pursuit, he replied, "No. I can get better but the mountain will not get bigger."

What drives you today? To live well, we need a purpose. When we no longer have a goal, we lose direction and momentum.

After a fruitful season of ministry in Ephesus, Paul wanted to get back to Jerusalem. Along the way, he would check on the churches in Macedonia and Achaia. But the goal was Jerusalem.

Next, Paul sent Timothy and Erastus on to Macedonia and stayed a little longer in Ephesus. What is your next step to reach your goal? No time to waste. Start now.

Pray with me:
Father, we want to know you more. Direct our steps today so that we may fulfill your purpose for our lives. We pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
Our Monday through Friday devotionals will start in the book of Acts this year.  We will not hurry through the book.  We want to see what the Holy Spirit did in the early church so that we may discern what he is doing in us and through us.  Join us for these devotionals as we learn together about our King and his Kingdom in the world.

We also invite you to join us as we read through the Bible. Copies of the reading plan are available at Tallowood Baptist Church, or download your copy here:
