When Latinas Lead, Everyone Thrives. |
At the end of a critical election year, we are choosing to step boldly into the future. We do so grounded in the knowledge that we have the collective power to move away from a society that privileges some toward a future where women achieve their full potential and systems help working families thrive. We are choosing to lead with deep commitment to the ascension of girls and women to key decision-making tables that, for too long, have willfully neglected the human capital potential of integration and inclusion. Latinas are inextricably linked to the health and wealth of this nation, and they are critical actors in shaping a future where America makes good on its promise of liberty and justice for all.
In the aftermath of what will likely be seen as one of, if not the most, consequential elections of the 21st century, we know that our work will be vital in protecting past wins – from reproductive rights, to DACA, to the social safety net. It is imperative, however, that we aren’t so focused on protecting the present that we lose momentum, forget to dream, and fail to secure the future we all deserve.
With this last missive of the year, we are excited to share our first Annual Report.
The report highlights key milestones achieved through trusted partnerships from California to Washington, D.C., to amplify Latina voices and leadership. In 2024, we connected with thousands through our Law and Policy Symposium and other national conferences, delivered groundbreaking research on the economic and political status of Latinas, and nurtured a robust leadership ecosystem that strengthens Latina-serving infrastructures, accelerates cross-generational dialogue, and promotes a cohort of junior and mid-career scholars to close knowledge gaps. Each accomplishment and action underscores our belief that Latinas are core actors in propelling a more inclusive, equitable, and abundant future where the talent of girls and women is unleashed so that everyone thrives.
In solidarity and hope,

Latina Futures is dedicated to cultivating abundance, empowering communities, and shaping a lasting legacy for Latinas.
| ABUNDANCE
Working in collaboration with Becca Guzman and her Latina-owned video production company, Richie Rue Productions, Latina Futures showcased the rich experiences of the nation’s diverse Latina leaders in our Empowered Voices video series.
Through the testimonios of Latinas who broke through barriers as “firsts” alongside those who now stand on their shoulders, the project underscores the abundant leadership pipeline that can shape the future.
| POWER
After two years of planning with an illustrious symposium committee and trusted partners, Latina Futures hosted our inaugural law and policy symposium, convening over 400 national leaders to interrogate the ways in which Latinas are and are not integrated into policymaking and jurisprudence. Drawing on the diversity of Latina intellectuals and law practitioners, this work catalyzed a power-building ecosystem in key regions, including the Southwest, Northeast, and Midwest.

| LEGACY
The work of radical imagination necessitates honoring our ancestors. Today’s Latina leaders draw from a storied legacy of championing equity, inclusion, and justice across issues as vast as the environment, democracy, and reproductive justice. In 2024, we honored the late environmental justice advocate and state legislator Cindy Montañez through the lens of Gen Z activist Nalleli Cobo, whose efforts to combat urban oil drilling build on Montañez’s legacy. At its core, Latina Futures challenge narratives that erase the contributions of generations of Latinas to the American story by weaving them into present and future frames.
Latina Futures is redefining who is seen and heard in the national conversation about citizenship, belonging, and dignity. Shifting narratives is not just about visibility; it is about legacy creation and seizing power so that girls and women are recognized as the leaders they are.

“Latinas often underestimate their own capabilities and qualifications. Having an organization like Latina Futures that provides mentorship, funding, and support is essential for empowering this next generation.”
