Walsh University and Carlow College, St. Patrick’s Exchange Program Brings Historian to Campus |
Last Fall, Walsh University and Carlow College, St. Patrick’s in Carlow, Ireland, signed a memorandum of understanding, committing to student and faculty exchange between the two institutions of higher learning. Since then, Sarah Jordan, a senior Museum Studies student, became the first student to study abroad over the summer, taking in Ireland’s natural beauty, rich culture and history both inside and outside the classroom. Dr. Rachel Constance, Associate Professor of History, traveled to Carlow College, St. Patrick’s, last week to participate in the faculty exchange program. Next week, Walsh University will host Dr. Elaine Callinan, historian of Irish politics and society and lecturer of Irish history, who will provide a public lecture on From Conflict to Conciliation: The “Troubles” of Northern Ireland (1968-1998), on Wednesday, November 1, at 7 p.m. in the Toot Global Learning Center. It is free but does require registration.
