KL2 Alums Publish Comparative Study on High Risk Antibiotic Treatments During Pregnancy |
We applaud KL2 alums Anne Mobley Butler, PhD, MS, and Michael Durkin, MD, MPH, for their recent publication in JAMA Network Open. In their publication "First-Trimester Antibiotic Use for Urinary Tract Infection and Risk of Congenital Malformations," Butler served as the senior author, and Durkin was one of the co-authors. With UTIs being one of the most common infections during pregnancy, their research revealed which treatments during the first trimester pose a higher risk of birth defects.
