DACC Summer 18 Alumni & Friends Update

Danville Area Community College Alumni  & Friends

Summer 2018

REGISTRATION IS ONGOING FOR THE FALL SEMESTER THAT BEGINS AUGUST 20TH!

A Message from Alumni Association President,

Dr. Gerald Cockrell
I was fortunate to have the honor of attending the DACC Commencement ceremony earlier this month. It was a nostalgic night for me bringing back many memories from my graduation 45 years ago. I remember that night as one of joy, pride, and accomplishment. My degree from DACC set me on a path in life that was very fulfilling for me. As I watched the graduates turning their tassels indicating the conferring of their degree, I had the feeling of hope that these young people will be able to do something in life that will bring them happiness. I also hope that each of these graduates will find an equal amount of pride in their alma mater.  Earning a college degree is really a defining time in the lives of these grads. They may not appreciate the level of impact that this will have on their lives now, but later in life when they reflect back, I am confident that each will consider time spent at DACC as important.

Franklin University Expands

3 + 1 to Include MBA

In The Godfather films, they’d say that Franklin University made DACC “an offer we can’t refuse.”
Over the past six months, Franklin University has been working with DACC’s Articulation Director Stephane Potts and Accounting Professor Brian Fink to develop a customized program for DACC’s business and accounting students.
Franklin touts itself as being an “affordable university for the adult learner.” With this new partnership with DACC, the Ohio-based university is putting its money where its mouth is. They’ve fashioned both a bachelor’s in business accounting and an MBA that DACC President Stephen Nacco says “knocked our socks off as a real benefit for our students and local residents.”
