Dear Cottage Theatre family,
I've been thinking a lot about empathy this week. My dictionary defines it as "the psychological identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another." Empathy is so vitally important to the act of living in community with our fellow human beings. And performing in or attending a play is a wonderful way to strengthen our "empathy muscles." So thank you for being part of our CT family and for being the kind of person who deliberately seeks out the experience of imagining life in another's shoes. May we all practice empathy, because from empathy are grown the seeds of hope for a better world.
This week we reveal the #1 show in our Top Ten Countdown — and its theme of not judging people by their appearance is, sadly, as timely as ever.
Be well . . . and please continue to spread kindness!
