Happy Sunday, Friends!Â
Quite a rainy week we've had, but today it looks like the sun might finally peak through!
This week's newsletter is a doozy, full of important updates, so be sure to read through the end and then try to soak up whatever amount of sun is offered to us today! 🌞🌦

There are all kinds of critters living around our campus. This tulip-tree beauty moth (Epimecis hortaria) was found perched on the outer walls of the preschool building.
If you ever notice wildlife while walking the grounds of FSW, snap a pic and send it our way!

This week, I want to begin with a heartfelt thank you to the parents who generously donated snacks and drinks to stock the two kitchens on our campus. Your generosity and thoughtfulness are deeply appreciated.
These gifts may seem simple, but they mean a great deal to our teachers and staff. A snack or drink in the middle of a busy afternoon offers a small opportunity to pause between classes, meetings, supervision, lesson preparation, and the many other responsibilities that fill a school day. More importantly, it communicates care and reminds our teachers that the work they do is seen and valued.
That recognition matters.
. . .Â
Teaching is not simply a job that begins when students arrive and ends when they leave. It requires preparation, presence, judgment, emotional investment, creativity, patience, and sustained care.

🌱 Calling all Wednesday Weeders! 🦋 |
We’re ready to get back out in the butterfly garden and could use some helping hands! We’ve been caring for this special space for years, and we’re excited to get Wednesday Weeders going again for another school year.
For now, we just need to get started ASAP and give the garden some much-needed attention.
If you can come help pull weeds and tidy up, we’d love to have you! Once we get rolling, the plan is to meet two Wednesdays a month.
No green thumb required—just come ready to pull some weeds and enjoy being outside!Â

Wednesday September 2nd, 2026Â
Drop in anytime between 8:00-9:30AM
