♥ NASA Space Research High School Internships
NASA, Texas Space Grant Consortium, and The University of Texas at Austin Center for Space Research Summer Intern Program is a nationally competitive STEM program for high school students. The program provides selected students with exposure to Earth and space research. Interns will learn how to interpret NASA satellite data while working with scientists and engineers in their chosen area of work. This summer, the partners will support a summer intern program where interns will work remotely prior to their on-site internship July 16 – July 30, 2022. Interns are selected on the basis of their academic records, written application that includes written essay questions, introduction video, letter of recommendation and interest in STEM. The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative accepting applications through February 15th!
The Future of STEM Scholars Initiative (FOSSI) launched in Nov. 2020 to create pathways for under-represented groups to enter & succeed in the chemical industry. FOSSI awards scholarships $10K/year (for 4 Yrs.) to college Freshman pursuing STEM degrees at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). They connect students to Leadership Development, Mentoring, and Internship opportunities. Apply Here
♥ Emily Noether Award
This merit-based scholarship award is presented annually to (3) female seniors aspiring to pursue post-graduate degrees in STEM-related fields. The Gold Medalist will receive up to $75,000, and the two Silver Medalists will be awarded $25,000 each for qualified graduate-level programs (to be divided over a 3-year span). In addition to the 3 merit-scholarship winners, up to 10 applicants will be invited as Scholars to join a network of young female aspiring research scientists and receive information on internship and networking opportunities. An awards banquet will be held in New Orleans on June 4, 2022 from 11:00am – 1:00pm to honor the 3 awardees and 10 scholars. Requirements include: Female; Senior in High School; Lives in LA, MS or AL; Pursues a research-based graduate degree and career in a STEM field; 28 or higher on the ACT.
