Celebrating Adult Learners and Their Stories of Success |
IVC’s Adult English as a Second Language (AESL) department hosted A Celebration of Adult English Learners: Stories of Success on March 12, bringing together students, faculty, and guests for a morning of inspiration and recognition. The main program featured a student panel, faculty presentation, and student recognition, highlighting the journeys and achievements of adult learners. A reception followed with a meet-and-greet, photo booth, resource fair, and light refreshments, creating space for connection and celebration across the campus community. Spring Transfer and Graduate School Fair |
More than 25 universities visited IVC on March 10 for the Spring 2026 Transfer and Graduate School Fair, hosted by the Transfer Center. Representatives from CSU and UC campuses, along with private universities like USC, Chapman, Pepperdine, and Azusa Pacific were in attendance. IVC Speech Brings Home Awards from Greece to California |
After already earning 124 awards this season, the IVC Speech Team took on its biggest challenge yet—competing in two major championships at the same time—and delivered strong results on both the international and state stages. While one group traveled to Athens, Greece for the International Forensics Association Championships, another competed at the CCCFA State Championships in Concord, California. Despite splitting their roster, IVC Speech brought home multiple individual honors and a third-place team finish at state. Read More about Speech and Debate Team »

Foundation Honors Community Impact at Annual Awards Dinner |
On March 6, the IVC Foundation hosted its annual Celebrating Excellence Awards Dinner at the Marconi Automotive Museum, welcoming more than 300 guests. The event honored William “Bill” Hewitt (Lifetime Achievement Award), Dr. Donald Rickner (Distinguished Service Award), and The Hub: Center for Professional Learning (Excellence in Innovation Award) for their lasting impact on student success and campus excellence. IVC Hosts Women Veterans Networking Forum |
IVC welcomed women veterans on March 13 for the Women Veteran Networking Forum, a day of connection and reflection centered on the theme, “Reclaim Your Identity: From Service to Self.” The program included a keynote by Dr. Mary Ann Villarreal, interim president of CSU Dominguez Hills and an Air Force veteran, who highlighted the power of education, mentorship, and service.

Environmental Leadership Committee Announces Student Logo Contest Winners |
The Irvine Valley College Environmental Leadership Committee (ELC) recently hosted a student logo design contest to create a new visual identity reflecting the college’s commitment to sustainability, education, and campus engagement. Students from Gokce Kasikci’s Digital Media Art (DMA) 192 and Gregory Harlan’s DMA 175 courses participated. First place was awarded to Ahlam Attallah, who will receive a $500 prize for her winning design. Parinaz Ahranjani was named runner-up and will receive a $250 award. Read More About ELC Logo Design »
