Hello friends, and thank you for being part of The Green Room community.
We are taking this week off, and before we step away, I want to say how grateful I am for your support of public radio and the arts. Every Friday, you invite me into your inbox and let me share the creative spirit of the Ozarks. That trust means the world to me and to all of us at KSMU. The artists, organizers, and dreamers I meet each week remind me how much this region offers, and it is a privilege to bring their voices to you.
Thank you for reading, listening, and cheering on the arts with us. We will be back next week with more stories from the stages, studios, and galleries that make our community shine.
I can’t sign off without one suggestion for the holiday weekend. Martin Scorsese’s film The Last Waltz captured The Band’s final concert on Thanksgiving Day in 1976 and has become a seasonal staple for many. With guests like Bob Dylan, Neil Young, and Joni Mitchell, the concert has inspired musicians around the country to recreate it each year. Springfield joins the tradition for the first time as Dallas Jones presents The Last Waltz at Tie & Timber Beer Co. in Rountree on Saturday, Nov. 29, at 7 p.m.
I hope you and your family have a great holiday. See you next week.
