May Common Grounds Speaker

Our Common Grounds Speaker Series connects staff with Texas A&M University leadership. Our May speaker will be Barbara Mendoza, Senior Associate Vice President of Marketing and Communications, on Tuesday, May 16 at 10:00 a.m. Her presentation will follow the 8:45 a.m. USC meeting at the General Services Complex in Room 101B/C. Staff are encouraged to attend in-person or via Zoom to learn more about the Division of Marketing and Communications.

Free Financial Consultations in June |
Making decisions about money can feel difficult, especially when it comes to retirement. But you are not alone—especially since access to financial consultants is included as part of your retirement plan, at no cost. Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association of America (TIAA), one of the approved Texas A&M System financial and retirement vendors, will provide individual in-person employee financial consultations on-campus in College Station this June. Post a flyer in your office.

Open Enrollment: July 10 – July 31 |
The open enrollment period for enrolling or making changes to your health and other insurance coverage for FY24 begins July 10 and ends July 31. This three-week window is the only time an employee can make changes to coverage, enroll in new benefit options or renew flexible spending accounts without a qualifying life event. Log into Workday during this period to review your benefits and make any changes before the July 31 deadline. Post a flyer in your office about the benefits fairs.

Coffee + Conversation with University Leaders |

Staff are encouraged to join President M. Katherine Banks at her Coffee + Conversation events. This is your opportunity to speak with our president and university administration in an informal setting with coffee and refreshments. President Banks launched this series in spring 2023 as part of her commitment to enhanced communication and engagement. We hope to see you May 23!
