| Student Advocacy Mentorship Program |
We recently launched our Student Advocacy Mentorship program with a kick-off event on April 10. This program pairs medical students with physician mentors based on their specific areas of advocacy interest as they work through the resolution season and beyond. We look forward to highlighting new voices through advocacy this year!

This month in Louisville Medicine, we're looking at a question that’s posed to physicians all the time: if you could do it over, would you do it all again? What is your call to medicine?
|
|
Dr. Damon Coyle grew up as a patient at Family Allergy & Asthma and now, life coming full circle, he is a physician there himself. He not only had empathy for people suffering with allergies, but also sympathy, and knew that he wanted to help improve quality of life for others in the same way.

New Louisville Medicine themes are here! |
July – due 6/1 – Stronger Together for Better Care
No physician can know everything—nor should they. Explore how cross-specialty collaboration enhances patient care. How can we shift medicine’s culture to make teamwork the norm? What creative, informal ways can physicians build stronger working relationships?
August – due 7/1 – Doctors Diversify: The Rise of the Nontraditional Role
Physicians are moving beyond traditional roles into fields like tech, leadership, entrepreneurship, and advocacy. Why are more physicians seeking nontraditional paths and what unique value do they bring? How can medical education, health systems, and professional communities better support diverse, nontraditional career paths.
Check out the May issue of Louisville Medicine for a full list of themes for the upcoming year. Please reach out to Kathryn Vance at kathryn.vance@glms.org if you’d like to share your thoughts in an upcoming issue.
