Families with children ages 0-5 can join for a family-friendly New Year's celebration, including an interactive show from Mad Science, "Noon" Year's Eve crafts, a countdown to noon with a sparkling grape juice toast, and a take-home kit with everything you need for the first Havdalah of 2022.

Since 1986, the third Monday in January, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, has commemorated and celebrated Dr. King’s life and commitment to civil rights. Today it is also the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service. Federation's Community Shlichim (Israel emissaries) and Pozez JCC
Join the Pozez JCC Senior Shaliach (Israel emissary), Shy Ashkenazi, for a three-session, in-depth look at how we connect to the Jewish homeland. The January session will cover "Who are the People of Israel?" and explore the diversity in Israeli society and wrestle with different parts of this evolving country.

On January 4th from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM, help Federation partner Bender JCC, Montgomery County Food Council, and Montgomery County Public Schools organize produce and shelf-stable items for delivery to local homes.
- Donate Items for Welcome Home Box Collection for Afghan Refugees
Through MLK Day (Monday, January 17th), Olam Tikvah will collect items for “Welcome Home Boxes” for Afghan families to receive on their first day in their new homes.
