At the June Family Mixer, we had a special celebration for graduating parents. Earning a degree from a selective university is always a reason to be proud but doing it while raising children is definitely playing on hard mode! Well done to all of you. Follow us on Instagram all summer for stories on new graduates, including student parents like Keya Debnath, who just finished the MPP Program. If you or someone you know might enjoy being highlighted in the series, contact Student Activities Coordinator Meredith McMurray to learn more.

| Gathering with fellow North Side parents?
“I have a three-year-old and live on the north side (Rogers Park!). Was wondering if there's anyone in this area as well who would like to have playdates and/or meet during the week (ideally mornings) for accountability + dissertating together at a library or coffee shop. Looking forward to connecting with some of you!” -Meriam Pacheco Salazar, PhD Candidate, Romance Languages & Literatures

Sarah Diwan and Stephanie Haddad of HPNC shared a workshop on Gross Motor Learning as part of their Caregiver Professional Development series. Two resources they recommended were the Ilinois Early Learning Guidlines for children site, and the CDC early milestones app. Both have useful information on milestones, along with games and activities to encourage babies’ development, and adorable photo examples. The workshops will resume in the Fall with new experts and topics, and are for all caregivers—parents and professionals.
