Week of November 15

Thank You!

At St. Michael's, growing servant hearts is as important as growing bright minds. As we begin this season of giving and gratitude, thank you to all of our Dragons who donated food items this week to serve those in need at the St. Michael's Church Food Pantry. Your generous donations FILLED a room at the Church. If you were not able to bring donations on Wednesday but would still like to donate, it is best to bring items to the Church during office hours Monday-Thursday OR please contact Christian Hansen. Thank you to our families and parent volunteers for your support!

Bee Happy

St M's campus welcomes all creatures great and small. This week, we installed a small bee hive supplied by the Living Water Community Center. Our new bee neighbors are gentle in nature and are adjusting well to their new home with plenty of sun, trees, and water to provide the things they need to survive. The bees will provide opportunities to discuss insect life cycles, bee ecology and biology, to interact safely with an active beehive, and to hopefully generate some delicious honey that we will get a chance to taste. The hive is located in an area that is not frequented by faculty or students and we encourage mindfulness and distance if you are ever approaching it. We think this new hive is the bee's knees!   https://www.livingwaterrva.com

Student Holidays Nov. 23-27

A reminder that Thanksgiving week, November 23-27, is a student holiday. Extended Day is also closed. Wishing all of our Dragons a safe and blessed week!

Picture Day Photos

For those families who ordered them, our photographer is going to deliver school pictures on Monday. Please check backpacks as photos will be sent home this week with students.

Dress for the Weather Daily

There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothing! We're seeing many Dragons perfectly dressed for the weather, but we are also seeing a number of children in their summer gear on these occasional cold days.
As winter looms, we ask that parents check weather forecasts to ensure their children are dressed appropriately (pants, jackets/coats, hats and gloves, sturdy footwear, and rainwear as needed) for outdoor learning and activities every day.

COVID Reporting Protocol/Form

If someone in your family has symptoms, has been exposed, or is being tested for COVID-19, please inform the School  IMMEDIATELY IN WRITING via the COVID-19 Reporting Form link below. The confidentiality of the diagnosed student or teacher will be maintained.
