Real Estate breakfast highlights innovations in industry & philanthropy
Last week, more than 125 local commercial real estate professionals gathered for Federation’s biannual Real Estate Division breakfast. Panelists Alisa Rosenberg, Todd Rich, and Scott Nudelman shared insights on leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship. We are grateful to event co-chairs, Meg Brown and Scott Nudelman, and the Real Estate Division committee for filling the room with industry leaders who share a deep commitment to keeping our Jewish business community connected and vibrant.

Asheville JCC shares gratitude amidst hurricane recovery
“In the aftermath of the worst natural disaster we have faced in over 100 years, it is both comforting and humbling to be picked back up by our Jewish community 500 miles away,” shared Ashley Lasher, Asheville JCC Executive Director. Federation’s relief funds enabled the Asheville JCC to deliver basic supplies to their community when Hurricane Helene isolated Asheville. Today, Asheville JCC is implementing “early childhood safe spaces” to provide trauma-informed programming for families with young children as they process the aftermath of the hurricane.

Federation’s innovative partnership with Makom
“Since Federation first purchased our building over 10 years ago, the idea was to fill it as much as possible with Jewish community organizations,” Federation CEO Gil Preuss recently shared with the Washington Jewish Week. “So when the possibility came along when Makom was looking for a larger space and we had space, we started the conversation that what they needed, we were able to provide.”

Join the Greater Washington Jewish community — and thousands from across North America — as we mark one year since the historic March for Israel. Together, we’ll demonstrate our commitment to unity in the aftermath of the October 7th attacks and the unprecedented spike in antisemitism that followed. As we continue to navigate the year ahead, it matters more than ever for us to support each other and come together as one community.
