The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Lt. Col. (Ret.) Richard M. Reitan, CS-15, Class of 1967. Col. Reitan passed away on Feb. 4, 2026, in Abilene, Texas.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on February 20, 2026, at the Memorial Pavilion at the USAFA Cemetery, 3024 Parade Loop, USAF Academy, Colorado.
His family has suggested memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to the USAFA Baseball Program.
