Center News:

CIA Summer Internship Program: Our Center is now accepting applications for the Community Impact Assistant Summer Internship program, with interviews to be scheduled for March and April. This summer (’25), we’re offering on-site, hands-on learning opportunities addressing community-identified priorities through six student internships across seven community partner locations: the Union-Snyder Food Hub, DIG Furniture Bank, SV Mediation, Transitions of PA, Dreamcatcher Farm, the Lewisburg Children’s Museum, and The Getting Ahead Foundation. These internships run for 8 weeks and are currently posted on Bison @ Work. For any questions, please reach out to Stacey Piecuch at sjp0222@bucknell.edu.

We’re excited that our very own Melissa Intindola and Sarah Farbo have both been accepted into the International Association of Service Learning and Community Engagement (IARSLCE) Practitioner-Scholar Community! They will be participating in four learning modules to build their practitioner-scholar identity and capacity with practitioner-scholars from across the globe. They can’t wait to share their learning with both on and off campus partners!

Empty Bowls Fundraiser: March 19, 8-10am and 11am-2pm Join us for our annual fundraiser for our Community Harvest meal distribution program. Tickets are $13 adults, $8 students/youth. Tickets must be purchased through the Box Office prior to the event.

Lewisburg Community Garden Volunteer Shifts begin Tues., April 1st (4-7pm) with registration available on Engaged Bucknell

The Lewisburg Community Garden invites you to join them in the 2025 growing season!! If you're interested in applying for a plot, please fill out an application (https://tinyurl.com/2025LCGplot) by March 15th. For a small fee (a sliding scale of $0-60) you can rent out a plot and grow your own food. Reach out if you have any questions (plantgrowfeed@gmail.com)

Community Harvest Meal Program (Milton): Volunteers needed 1-3pm or 3-5pm (up to 5 individuals) on Mondays

Raise the Region 2025 will be held March 12th- 13th and is a 30-hour giving campaign with the goal to raise important funds for local nonprofit organizations.

The Getting Ahead Foundation has a continued need for volunteers in a variety of roles, including childcare, meal preparation, transportation, and resources or talents to share to program participants. If interested, contact Rose Williams at rose@gettingaheadfoundation.org or sign up as an interested volunteer on Engaged Bucknell.

Big Brothers Big Sisters NEPA is hosting their annual ‘Bowl for Kids’ Sake’ fundraiser on March 22nd from 1:30-5pm at Best Bowl, Selinsgrove. Come out for a fun day of bowling while supporting BBBS mentorship local programs.

Registration is available for volunteers and nonprofit organizations to participate in the Susquehanna Valley United Way’s April 25th Day of Action. Nonprofit organizations can register for projects they would like help with on site, and sponsors are also welcome.
