FMCA Newsletter: Stay healthy on the road
The Mile Marker
Dear RV Friend,
“Summertime and the livin’ is easy…” So begins the old George Gershwin tune. With warmer weather making it easier to enjoy outside activities, and farmers markets overflowing with summer’s bounty, it’s a great time to focus on health and fitness.

Craving some juicy red tomatoes or freshly picked sweet corn? You can eat healthy and support the local community no matter where your RV journey takes you. Find local farmers markets, CSAs, and other food hubs by searching the USDA’s Local Food Directories.

Keeping that produce fresh can be another story. Check out this helpful guide from the EPA for tips on produce storage so the purchases you make on the road can last longer.

Looking for ideas for menu items that use fresh produce? The Farmer’s Almanac offers some tasty suggestions for making the most of food in season.

Yours in health and travels,
The FMCA Team

Why We Love FMCA
Last September a friend of ours and fellow FMCA member from Texas was traveling in the Northeast and stopped in New Hampshire. While there, she fell and hurt her knee. She would not be able to drive her motorhome back to Texas. I had gotten in touch with FMCAssist on her behalf. I can’t begin to tell you how great Kathy at Seven Corners [FMCAssist program administrator] was in helping our friend. She went above and beyond with every detail in seeing that our friend got back to Texas and that her motorhome was delivered safely. We hope we will never have to use this service, but if we do, we will know that FMCAssist will be with us all the way.

Travel With Peace Of Mind
The FMCAssist Medical Emergency and Travel Assistance Program is available to members worldwide as long as they are more than 100 miles from home. You can be traveling in an RV, car, plane, ship, or motorcycle to be eligible for this benefit. If you are a full-time RVer, you are always considered 100 miles from home.
How Do I?
The Fit RV
Maintain YOUR Rig

Every RVer has their own reasons for getting into the RV lifestyle, but for Stef and James Adinaro, F439400, it was because they needed a bathroom at weekend endurance sport events. But it didn’t take them long to realize their RV opened up all sorts of travel possibilities beyond the convenience of their own private race day bathroom.

That was years ago, and now James has become something of a pro when it comes to doing extreme mods and turning their RV into a personal dream vehicle. And Stef has become an RVing fitness personality promoting a more heathy and active RV lifestyle.

Together, the power couple forms The Fit RV, a website that is composed of a combination of fitness and RVing tips, all showcasing their lighthearted humor. Whether you're a full-time RVer or a weekend warrior, get inspired, be amused, and find “sometimes” useful tips (in their own words!) at www.thefitrv.com

Pro Tip
Don't want to lug workout equipment along on your RV trips? No workout equipment is needed for Stef's Do-Anywhere Bodyweight Workout.

RVers Delight
Cool Treats
Homemade Freezer Pops

What says summer fun more than enjoying a frozen treat on a warm day?

Whip up a batch of these sweet creations, and pop them in your RV's freezer to have at the ready. Making your own fruit pops will add a healthful element to the fun.

Puree a combination of your favorite fruits and add a natural sweetener such as honey or agave nectar, if desired. Endless combinations and ingredients can be used. Possibilities include fruit puree, juice, yogurt, pudding, and even Nutella. The only limit is your imagination!

Special molds are available, or improvise and use small paper cups. Fill the cups, cover each one with foil, and insert a treat stick in the center. The treats will take six hours or so to freeze, so it’s best to prepare them the day before.
