GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

The U.S. Air Force Academy Association & Foundation has recently learned of the death of Brig. Gen. (Ret.) David Oakes III, CS-12, Class of 1966. Gen. Oakes passed away on April 3, 2026, in Denville, New Jersey.

A Burial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on June 5, 2026, at the USAFA Cemetery, 3024 Parade Loop, USAF Academy, Colorado.

A Celebration of Life was held on April 14, 2026, at Norman Dean Home for Services, Denville, New Jersey.  A Funeral Mass was held on April 15, 2026 at St. Clement Church, Dover, New Jersey.

His family has suggested memorial donations be made in lieu of flowers to Tunnel to Towers or the ALS Association.
