NYU students can resume bringing visitors to campus
Good news: beginning Tuesday, September 13, NYU students can once again welcome visitors.
Campus Visitors
- All visitors must be sponsored by an NYU employee, faculty member, or student.
- All visitors must comply with NYU’s vaccination requirements to enter an NYU facility or participate in an NYU-sponsored activity.
There are two ways for your visitor to verify compliance:
- Upload proof of vaccination to VEOCI at least five business days before they arrive. We recommend this method so your visitor will be cleared for access before arrival (proof of vaccination remains in the system, so returning visitors will not have to re-upload each time they visit).
- Visit one of the University’s on-site vaccination check stations with proof of vaccination and booster (for those eligible) for same-day approval – open Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 6 p.m. (though closed on federal, state, local and University holidays). Vaccination verification receipts from the on-site check stations are valid for one week.
- Gould Welcome Center (Address: 50 West 4th Street)
- 2 MetroTech Center Lobby (Address: 2 MetroTech Center, Brooklyn)
- NYU College of Dentistry (Address: 345 East 24th Street)
Keep in mind, if your visitor arrives at a vaccination check station with insufficient proof, they will be denied access to NYU buildings. Nobody wants that; by using the pre-arrival upload process in VEOCI, visitors can correct errors and get their proof of vaccination approved before their visit.
Residence Hall Guests
If you want to bring a guest to your residence hall, the same two rules apply: 1)
the guest must be sponsored in VEOCI, and 2) they must comply with NYU’s vaccination requirements.
When your guest arrives at your residence hall, they will have to present either a Violet Go pass (if they uploaded proof of vaccination in advance) or a receipt from one of the vaccination check stations. They’ll also have to submit a government-issued ID. Residence hall hosts and guests must also follow the
residence hall guest policy.
