Hi Neighbor!

After so many months of remote everything, when offered the opportunity to return to in-person work, volunteering and cultural events, my immediate response was no thanks. I didn’t analyze it. I’d already made adjustments, doing activities from home with a new virtual routine so the thought of returning in-person was unappealing. Why pivot all over again? I automatically continued sequestering myself even when options included being with others masked and distanced.

My oldest friend recognized this behavior. She said she’d personally experienced what I described and observed it among friends and colleagues. She identified and labeled it covid inertia. I think she’s right.

I didn’t realize I’d grown inflexible.  I found myself stuck in routines I never wanted but never-the-less adjusted to. Recognizing this is helpful. I didn’t see I was holding myself captive.

Join Valley Forge Educational Services for our 2022 Annual Community Day on Saturday, April 30, 11:00 am – 3:00 pm!

Community Day is a fun event for children and adults with special needs and their families. Whether your loved ones enjoy sliding down the inflatable slides, petting farm animals at the petting zoo or getting professional face paintings, there will be plenty of activities for the whole family!  Other activities include Bingo, arts & crafts, Zumba and karaoke.  Our basket raffle is also a very popular activity and includes a gas grill, family and date night activities, and much more!  Buy a ticket or two or three to enter for your chance to win one of these amazing baskets!  Lunch and refreshments are complimentary. No registration or fees are required!  We hope to see you and your family there…come out for a day of big fun and bring your friends!
