Good morning! Ready, Set, Roar! continues this week. Dr. Chris Pelic has been appointed interim executive director of Student Health Services; University researchers have a suite of Clemson tools available for AI-assisted work.

What to know today:

Ready, Set, Roar!, Clemson's two-day Orientation experience, continues this week as the College of Science hosts students on main campus.

- Faculty and staff should also expect increased activity around certain areas of main campus this week, as the University hosts campers, Summer move-in and a concert in Death Valley.

NEWS AND UPDATES

Chris Pelic, M.D., has been named interim executive director of Student Health Services. Pelic most recently served as executive director of psychiatric, counseling and well-being services at Clemson.

The Harvey S. Peeler Jr. College of Veterinary Medicine is launching a local ambulatory service to provide on-farm and after-hours care for cattle, small ruminants and horses. The service will also support backyard poultry and small-scale swine operations.

Statewide Spotlights

A Clemson University-led research team was awarded an $800,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture to develop innovative breeding tools aimed at improving water-use efficiency in cotton.
