Taft 23 4-H held its annual Christmas Goody Bag event. They made close to a dozen different kinds of Christmas goodies and made 100 bags to hand out to loved ones and elderly adults. This is always a fun event for all!

Crime Scene Investigation |

4-H members at The Arc Fond du Lac and Chegwin Boys & Girls Club stepped into the role of young detectives during six-week STEM: CSI programs, where they explored the science behind crime scene investigation through hands-on activities. Participants learned fingerprinting techniques, practiced code-breaking, analyzed evidence, and applied their skills to solve a mini crime scene!

4-H and community youth are invited to attend Family Learning Day! Join us to learn a new skill or gain fresh ideas. It will be a fun, informative day. Parents are encouraged to spend the day with their child and help them find their sessions.

Join the NEW Wildlife Club! |
Youth in grades 3-8 will discover nature through hands-on activities and outdoor adventures. Explore animal tracks, identify trees and birds, and learn about Wisconsin wildlife through fun kits from the WCEE program at UW–Stevens Point. Try unique experiences like Pop Can Casting, building Fish Hotels, and examining animal furs. The club will also visit the Gottfried Prairie & Arboretum for real-world learning in the prairie and arboretum.

Fond du Lac County Market Livestock Educational Requirements
|

To qualify for the Market Livestock Sale, participants are required to complete eight (8) educational credits. There will be no educational requirement for youth who graduated from high school the previous year.
- Each exhibitor, including those showing their last year, must be Youth for the Quality Care of Animals (YQCA) certified. YQCA certification can be obtained either online or in person.

The calendar year for completing eight (8) credits begins July 1 (before the previous fair) and ends on July 1 of the current year. Educational credits earned July 1 prior to the current year's fair will be applied to the following year's market livestock sale qualification.
- All educational classes/shows/YQCA Certification must be submitted within 10 days of the event or completion for meeting credit. After 10 days, NO points will be counted.

6 points - meetings two or more days in length
- 2 points - meetings 1-2 hours in length, exhibiting livestock at any show
- 4 points - judging teams, quiz bowl teams, meetings one day in length (6 or more hours)
- 4 points - high school or college meat animal-related class
- 3 points - meetings 1⁄2 day in length (3 - 6 hours)

2 points - livestock-related public presentation (i.e., Day on the Farm, civic groups, etc.)
- 2 points - YQCA certification - in person or online
- 2 points - carcass contests
- 2 points - A Special Final Drive
- 2 points - orientation night (usually in March)
- 1 point - any meeting in conjunction with a show, sale, or livestock event (i.e., World Beef Expo, World Pork Expo, etc.)
- Only one point will be allowed for online/virtual learning opportunities or webinars

WI State 4-H Dog Project – Agility Learning Day |
All participants must be currently enrolled WI 4-H Dog Project Youth Members. This camp is ideal for all 4-H dog project junior handlers seeking to refine their agility skills, whether preparing for competition or simply strengthening their partnership with their dog. All experience levels are welcome—activities tailored to individual skill sets and training goals.
When: Saturday, March 7th, 9AM – 2PM
Location: Bark Academy, 2522 Overlook Dr. Wausau, WI 54401
Cost: $10.00 per youth/dog team
Registration deadline is February 18 or when the event is filled to capacity
Space is limited. There are 60 spots available, 1 dog maximum per handler. Youth members must accompanied by a parent/guardian or chaperone. All WI 4-H Dog Project Vaccination Policies will be followed for this event.
