Individuals in our community are finding themselves in need. Many people are facing significant concerns, struggling with financial distress, food insecurity, and physical and mental health challenges. They are relying, more than ever, on local institutions that are themselves struggling with capital shortages, lost revenue, and staff layoffs.
But while our community members are facing unprecedented challenges, they are not facing them alone. We are proud and grateful to share that since March 19, 131 donors have stepped up to help Federation raise more than $3 million for our Jewish Community COVID-19 Emergency Response Fund. Thank you for protecting our most vulnerable individuals and vital institutions.
Today, our first round of grants and loans—$700,000—was approved for distribution to meet the most immediate needs.
