On Monday, April 24th, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the NYU Department of Campus Safety received a report of an attempted robbery that occurred in the Brooklyn Commons.
The complainant, an NYU student, reported that at 3:20 p.m., while they were in the Brooklyn Commons, walking past the Dibner Library, they noticed two suspects walking towards them. One of the suspects held out a fist towards the complainant's face while a third suspect came up behind the complainant and tried to grab their backpack. The complainant was able to turn around to avoid their backpack being taken and fled towards the NYU Shuttle bus stop in front of Rogers Hall. No injuries were reported.
Description of Suspects: All three suspects were described as male-presenting with dark complexions and in their late teens. One of the suspects had their hair in dreadlocks. No additional details are available at this time.
