A Note from Nicholas Osborne
We have enjoyed providing in-person opportunities for networking and education this spring at our May PCI Coordinator and Collaborative meetings and the Vascular Surgery Physician Meeting. It was a pleasure to see so many of you at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Kensington Hotel in Ann Arbor and at Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls. Read on for details about these meetings, including links to presentations and event photos.
Our collaboration with the PCI Patient Advisory Council (PAC) continues to enrich our projects and improve the way we care for patients. The Council recently met to reflect on what we can do as a consortium to improve access to helpful resources. We share an outline of their ideas in this issue of the newsletter and welcome your feedback and additional ideas.
There is also a brand-new opportunity to partner with us as a BMC2 Social Media Ambassador. You’ll find more information about this opportunity in our “Call for Participation” section.
It is an honor to have you along with us on our shared mission of improving quality of care and outcomes for cardiovascular patients in Michigan. THANK YOU for your commitment. We are excited about our shared work's impact both now and in the future.

Developing Patient-facing Resources on BMC2.orgThe PCI Patient Advisory Council (PAC) met in April to discuss the possibility of adding patient-facing resources to BMC2.org.
The group identified aspects helpful to improving the patient experience that are not easily attainable via currently existing resources. Some ideas for content that would be posted on the website include a news round-up or other lay-person-facing articles on advancements in care, research studies, etc., ways for patients to access answers to questions they have post-procedure, and ways to connect to mental health resources and other patients who may mentor them. You can read more about the results of this brainstorming session on our blog.
We would like your feedback about these ideas and to gather any other ideas you may have currently. Please contact the Coordinating Center with any feedback or additional ideas you have to offer.
Our next steps will be to determine which resources we will provide and identify if they are already existing or if they would need to be created by BMC2 or one of our partners. We will then compile any existing content and create new content as needed and determine how to spread the word and engage patients in using our resources.
We look forward to partnering with you to improve the patient experience by offering patient-facing resources.
