march 2026
March 1 Scripture focus: 1 John 4:11-12 "Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us."

As March is in its early days let us pray for President Rich. He carries a lot of responsibility on his shoulders. Pray for God's provision in every way for President Scott Rich.

Pray for the seniors who are applying for graduate school, that God’s plan will be revealed to them.

17 student-athletes earned NAIA Winter Scholar-Athlete honors for 2026. These high-achieving students represent SC well. Ask the Lord to bless them as they continue on their path.

Pray for students that are in dating relationships, that they will put their identity in Christ and glorify God with the way they relate to one another.

Pray for all students, staff, faculty, alumni, and donors who celebrate their birthday in March. Ask the Lord to draw each person to Himself.

Praise the Lord for His unending mercy.

Scripture focus: Proverbs 14:22 "Do not those who plot evil go astray? But those who plan what is good find love and faithfulness." Also, today pray for Parker Smith, member of the Board of Trustees and class of 1966, as he celebrates his birthday. Happy birthday, Parker! May the Lord deeply and richly bless you.

Pray that the Lord will provide the financial needs of the college through generous donors and the right number of students choosing to attend SC.

Pray for all the members of the President’s Cabinet who oversee all departments and personnel on campus. Pray that they would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and that their decisions would be made with wise discernment from the Lord.

Pray for VP for Advancement and Alumni Relations, David Earle, as he is representing Sterling College at a college transfer fair at Rosedale Bible College in Irwin, OH. David is also visiting with alumni and friends of Sterling all this week in Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio.

We are grateful for all the ways God reveals Himself through His Work, creation, friendships and situations. Pray that we all would be sensitive to His voice in those small but powerful moments.

Students begin Spring Break after classes today. Pray that those traveling will be safe and that wise decisions are made during their break. Ask the Lord to bless this week for students and faculty to be relaxing and restorative, so that when they return to campus, they finish the semester well.

Today men's and women's tennis, softball, and baseball all compete. Ask the Lord to bless these student-athletes as they represent Sterling College and honor Him.

Scripture focus: Jeremiah 29:11-13 "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."

Lift up the students and team sponsor who are spending their Spring Break serving with an urban mission opportunity in Delaware.

Pray that the Lord would lead the right students to attend Sterling College and that those right students would also be the right number of students needed.

Pray that our students, faculty, and staff hold fast to the joy given to us by our Lord so that we may continue to share His unconditional love with those around us.

Pray for the grounds and facilities team as Spring is springing. Many landscaping and maintenance projects across campus pick up this time of year.

Pray for Sterling College staff as they enjoy the Spring Breather, a day of rest. Pray they would be blessed in this time and come back on Monday refreshed and renewed.

Give thanks to God for creating the beauty of the earth, which grows ever more apparent with the arrival of Spring.

Scripture focus: Psalm 40:8 "I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”

The Office of Student Life works around the clock to provide all types of services for our students. Please lift up these individuals to have strong mental, emotional, spiritual, and physical health.

Please pray for the Enrollment Services Counselors and support staff as they continue to recruit for the 2026-2027 year.

This time of year, students often begin to lose motivation. Pray for endurance and motivation to finish this school year strong.

This evening and tomorrow, the C. S. Lewis Center, located in the Mabee Library, will host "No Ordinary People - A C. S. Lewis Conference". Pray that all goes smoothly and that this event will bring positive recognition to Sterling College.

Pray that God will grant His protection over the men and women who are currently serving in the United States military – some of whom are alumni and family members.

Pray that Sterling College will be faithful in promoting Christ in every area of the College.

Scripture focus: Jeremiah 17:7-8 "But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

Our alumni support current students in many ways. Praise God for alumni who pray, give, build relationships with, encourage, and hire Sterling College students.

Ask God to provide clarity of mind and direction for our faculty as they prepare for the rest of the semester and begin plans for summer projects and plans.

-26 Verse of the Year:  Romans 8:37 "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us."
