Remote Learning Parent Survey
As we are two weeks into St. Michael's Remote Learning program, we want to make sure we are maintaining enough flexibility to adapt as input/ideas, family/faculty needs, and research arise. We are asking for your feedback via the survey below so that we can be aware of what to take into consideration when it comes to the academics and more importantly, the social-emotional well-being and mental health of our students, faculty, and their families during this unprecedented time.

As we all adapt to online class meetings and learning, a few friendly "netiquette" reminders to ensure success:
- As St M relaxed the dress code to make students more comfortable, thank you for ensuring that students do not wear pajamas, tank tops, hats (or hoods when wearing sweatshirts) to online classes.
- Please be mindful of what is in the background of video conference screens.
- Students should abide by our St. Michael’s DRAGONS’ values (and for our Middle School students, the Honor Code) in all that they do, even via remote learning.
- When using technology, each student should abide by our Technology Acceptable Use policy regarding online conduct and digital citizenship. A reminder that when students are logged into our School network, they are not to use the Google Meet video conferencing or chat functions for personal use with friends.
- Set up a regular school workspace at home, preferably at a desk or table. Minimize distractions during the times students are “in class.”
- Out of respect for our teachers and to model appropriate classroom behavior, students should not be lying down in bed while participating in online classes.

FAQ
In the coming weeks, we will do our best to answer frequent questions we are receiving.
When will parents receive 3rd quarter report cards?
- Lower School report cards will be mailed the start of this week (week of April 6) so parents have them in hand for remote teacher conferences.
- Middle School 3Q final grades will be posted on PowerSchool on Monday, April 6, for parent/student viewing.
- Click HERE for a video tutorial from Technology Director Dave Grossman on how to view Middle School grades in PowerSchool.
- Click HERE for Grades 3-8 Report Card Comment and Conduct Definitions.
- NOTE: All families should have received Sign-Up Genius invites to register for Q3 remote teacher conferences. If you did not receive one, please contact your child's teacher/advisor.
What is the plan for 8th grade end of year exams?
- Given the circumstances, there will be NO end of year exams for our 8th graders this year. (Did we just hear
some cheering?)
Will students advance to the next grade level when the 2020-21 school year begins?
- Yes. Teachers are working diligently to ensure that our students learn essential content and skills necessary for the next school year and they will also review material as needed in the fall to ensure student understanding and competency.
