Helpful Honda Video Competition

Kids at our Oak View site won a $10,000 Helpful Honda Grant for their video submission which will be put towards the new Oak View Teen Center. Ten Boys & Girls Clubs were selected. We are so Proud of them!!

Floats are Better When Kids Make Them

Oak View Club members and the art staff all played a central role in helping create decorations for our parade float at the Ventura County Fair. Our members and art staff spent weeks designing and putting together decorations, which were on display August 5th. Staff from all four Clubs helped dress the float and ride into the parade, as they waved to onlookers and passers-by. Summer BBQ with Saticoy Kids & Parents

Summer isn't complete without a BBQ. That's why on August 11th our Harrison Club site celebrated their year end summer celebration and transported all the kids from the center down to Arroyo Verde Park. The kids were given shirts made by the staff to represent teams they had been a part of during the summer games, including the The Lime Green Geckos, Red Rockets, and the Baby Blue Groots to name a few. There were a variety of games which the children participated in including a short hiking trail. Prizes were given out to the kids for their participation in the Glory Games and parents were kind enough to donate a variety of items for the BBQ which consisted of hot dogs, chips, different desserts and refreshments. We had a few of our parents join us and let us know how much they had enjoyed having their children at our Club.
