Staff News

As some of you may know, Christmas break marked the end of Anne Methven's tenure as our beloved Advancement Assistant. For some time now, she and her husband, Rob, have planned for her to help more with Rob's growing business. Anne's skill in everything (from managing a database, working closely with volunteers, and crafting thoughtful communications pieces to executing events and maintaining her Tab soda addiction) was both impressive and endearing. We wish her all the best and hope she'll be back on campus here and there to lend a hand with a special project or two. Thanks to the hard work of James Romanik (Director of Development) and Mary King Coleman (Senior Development Officer), we have found someone wonderful to step into this role.

We are thrilled to welcome Anne McCoy as our new Advancement Assistant. For the past twelve years, Anne has served as a Client Services Associate at Davenport & Company, LLC. In her capacity at Davenport, she fostered positive and fruitful relationships between investment executives and customers, provided administrative and technical support to departments across the firm, and managed a pool of support staff responsible for seeking solutions to customer and producer challenges. Before her time at Davenport, Anne worked in human resources and as a paralegal. Anne has a strong spirit of volunteerism, serving on the Vestry and Stewardship Committee at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church. Anne has also been a stellar volunteer at St. Michael’s, serving as a room parent and working on the annual auction’s Solicitations Committee, most recently as Chair. Anne received her Bachelors in Art History from James Madison University. She and her husband, Jesse, have two children at St. Michael’s: Eleanor in third grade and Harry in kindergarten.

MLK Day of Service -- Where Did You Serve?
Please email  Christian Hansen  to let him know where you served on MLK day as this will help us plan for next year's service day.
Mr. Hansen along with a few others from St M participated in a clean-up of the historic Evergreen Cemetery (News story here). Tee Clarkson, a St M parent, is a part of the Enrichmond Foundation that is helping making this restoration effort possible. If you are interested in helping out in the future, there are cleanup days at the Cemetery nearly every Saturday to continue to beautify and conserve these historic sacred grounds.
