Presenter: Ali Martin Scoufield, Â M.S. (she | her | hers), Interim Dean of Students, Associate Dean of Students, Community Standards, and Advocacy, Cleveland State University

Bio:
Ali has worked in higher education nearly seventeen years in various functional areas including Equity, Service-Learning, Residence Life, and Title IX. She has facilitated over 100 regional and national presentations focusing on community engagement, integrity, advocacy, and policy development. She will be serving as Faculty for the 2022 ASCA Gehring Academy, for the Equitable & Inclusive Practices track.

Ali holds a BA in History from Western New England University, a MS in College Student Personnel from Miami University, and a MLS in Human Rights and Social Justice from Southern Methodist University. She is currently working on her PhD in Urban Education Policy at CSU, focusing on the intersections between trauma, policy, and the experiences of students with disabilities.

Originally from Houston, Texas, Ali and her family now in Cleveland, Ohio where Ali is the Interim Dean of Students at Cleveland State University. In this role, Ali oversees CARE Management, Community Standards, the Lift Up Vikes! Food Pantry & Resource Center, Student Wellness, Campus Engagement, and the Mareyjoyce Green Women’s Center. When not working, Ali is an avid reader, traveler, and passionate about community service. She is a long-term volunteer supporting food access and the Girl Scouts.

UMA Libraries' OER Honorarium Program

UMA Libraries and Learning Experience Designers (LXDs) were awarded a Presidential Mini-Grant to collaborate with 10 faculty members to transition their courses to Open Educational Resources (OER) instead of traditional textbooks for the Fall 2022 semester. In this session, we will discuss the process librarians and LXDs developed to support faculty, and faculty will share insights from their experience. Topics will include our approach and process, meeting experiences, resource-finding, course design and implementation, and obtaining student and faculty feedback.Â

Bio:
Tim has been working in the higher education space for the past 19 years helping institutions be successful with their technology investments, focused specifically on enhancing the digital experience and delivering inclusive learning. Before joining Blackboard in 2014, he led solutions engineering for iModules Software and was also the campus web administrator for his alma mater, Benedictine College. Tim started his career in technology as lead web developer for e-commerce solutions at Safeco Insurance. He is based in the Kansas City, MO.
