Thank you, IA: Regensburg signing marks historic strategic partnership |
This week, KU launched its first comprehensive, institution-wide international partnership with the University of Regensburg, building nearly 20 years of collaboration in chemistry and American studies into a broad alliance spanning business, law, engineering, and cancer research. The agreement fuels student and faculty exchanges, joint research, and virtual global learning, positioning both universities to tackle global challenges through shared expertise.
"This strategic partnership represents a transformative milestone in KU's internationalization journey -- one that positions focused, high-impact collaboration at the center of the university's global engagement strategy," said Charles Bankart, vice provost for international affairs and senior internationalization officer. "I am immensely proud of the dedicated teams across the International Affairs Division whose persistence and expertise have brought this historic agreement to fruition. Thank you especially to Whitney Denning, J. R. Speake, Camille Debreczeny, Rachel Sherman Johnson, and Joe Potts for their extraordinary efforts in making this partnership and visit an incredible success. We shined beautifully this week!"
