He then devoted himself to making the most elegant handblown goblets he could imagine. Through years of practice, he eventually mastered a technique for making these vessels in just the right shape, thin and lightweight, that balanced perfectly.
A set of his Cloud Goblets (with matching tumblers) was used at a White House Luncheon hosted by Rosalynn Carter.
The Corning Museum of Glass selected a set of six New Mexico Goblets for the 1979 New Glass Review, an exhibit that traveled to museums around the world.
Although Josh endeavored to make all of his goblets in matching sets, some goblets remained un-matchably unique. Josh saved all of them... until a few years ago, when he decided it would be okay to share them. Now here we are, almost 40 years after he stopped making them, and we still have some of Josh's handmade, amazingly elegant, un-matched glass goblets.
