Lynn Westwater participated in a roundtable titled "Adventures in Translation: Early Modern Italian Texts" at the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference in Baltimore.

On October 19th, Hadia Anaye and her students enjoyed cooking together while practicing French. As GW is a member of the Centers of Excellence network, this cooking class was one of the initiatives funded by the French Embassy to promote Francophone culture.

Sarah-Kay Hurst recently led excursions for different groups of French students to the Renwick Gallery. Each visit began with an interactive guided tour in French by Sarah-Kay, highlighting the francophone connections to the architectural gem often called "The American Louvre." Students then visited the various permanent and temporary exhibits in small groups and wrote poems to dialogue with various works of art.

Please join us for the next “Future Features and Pedagogical Innovations” event on Tuesday, November 14th, from 5-6pm in PHIL B156! In this roundtable-style workshop, we will discuss a brief follow-up from the spring theme on “experiential learning,” share more about the “future features” initiative as a continuing series, and delve into a new topic of “creative digital projects” with specific projects carried out by RGSLL colleagues.

Sociologist Sylvie Tissot will be presenting her latest book, Gayfriendly: Acceptance and Control of Homosexuality in New York and Paris. The event is in person and online, with more information available at the registration link.
Friday, November 3: The Illiberalism Studies Program at ESIA is hosting a full-day conference titled "Grassroots Unrest in Europe and the Erosion of Liberal Democracy.” Event information and the list of speakers are available at the conference registration link.

Web Bios - If you have not submitted your bios and pictures for the RGSLL webpage please do so by following the work request instructions below. The Center for Career Services has a free self-service headshot booth on campus that allows users to take professional-quality headshots, which takes 5-10 minutes to complete. Click here for details and to make an appointment (required).
New Web Initiative - A Google form has been created for website submissions. If you would like to submit news, faculty events, student events, alumni events, and/or dispatches from abroad, please use the above link.
Work Requests - All work requests should be sent to Carliss only with a subject line of "Work request - supplies, web changes, etc."
Printing Projects - If you have print projects, please send an email to Matthew with the request noted in the subject line as instructed under work requests and copy Carliss on the request. Please include full instructions on how many pages, the date due, and any other information that would help in completing the print job. Please allow at least 24 hours as a turnaround time.

Shredding - The shredding bin is located in the back of Suite 513 for your use when discarding old class papers and tests. Please be advised that all classwork needs to be held for a year, so any tests or papers being held from Fall '21 can be discarded.
Campus Security - If you or your students notice anything strange or anyone that appears to be acting strangely on campus you should notify Campus Police on their non-emergency number (202- 994-6110) unless you feel it is an emergency then you should call (202- 994-6111).
Care Report - If you have a student who needs additional academic or emotional support or a student you are concerned about, you can submit a Care report. To learn more about the Care process, see here.
