Concourse: Rooted and Rising – Cultivating Flourishing for Staff & Students: Join us for our first Concourse tomorrow, Tuesday, Nov. 4, 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. in Barfield. This half-day gathering will feature guest speaker Andy Crouch, with reflections from The Life We’re Looking For. Concourse offers space for professional development, connection, and exploring how we as staff can cultivate flourishing for ourselves and our students.

Compliance Training: All Baylor faculty and staff are required to complete the Courageous Conversations training in Ignite before December 4. In addition, staff who advise student organizations must also complete the Hazing Prevention: Faculty/Staff Edition training. Thank you for taking time to complete these important trainings, which help ensure a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus community.

Leadership for the Common Good Staff Workshop: Join the Student Leadership Development team on Nov. 12, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m. for a collaborative workshop on Leadership for the Common Good. Explore creative applications, share ideas, and learn how to equip students to lead well. Lunch provided—RSVP by Nov. 5!

- Flu Vaccine Clinic: Health Services wrapped up our Fall 2025 mobile flu shot clinics—aka Shot-tober—giving 500+ vaccines to students, faculty, and staff! Heard on site: “Best flu shot ever!” and “Wow, that was quick!” Haven’t gotten yours yet? We’ll still be giving them at the Health Center well into 2026!

Homecoming: So that was fun. And exhausting. Homecoming is one of those events that you kind of have to be at Baylor to believe. From worshipping together on Monday night through the last performance of Pigskin on Saturday night, Baylor Student Life was out in force this week. Special thanks to the Baylor Chamber of Commerce for so many late nights and (thanks to the parade and ESPN) early mornings. This year’s Chamber Homecoming Chair, Bethany Spurr (pictured in the ball cap above), ran one of the best Homecomings in recent memory. She was incredibly organized, demonstrated true leadership, and deserves immense praise. If you know her, give her some love.

What are you looking forward to most about working at Baylor? “I have seen first hand how much Baylor seeks to make people feel valued. The Baylor community poured into me as I grew up through the day I graduated, and now I am fortunate enough to get to be in the position to return the favor.
