Last month, several CPFM employees, including Sarah Stoeckl, Steve Mital, Madeline Jonas-Lowery, and Emily Hamblen from the Office of Sustainability, Cassie Taylor, and Aaron Olsen from Campus Planning, as well as Taylor McHolm, Sadie Creemer, and several students from the Student Sustainability Center, attended WOHESC (the Western Oregon Higher Education Sustainability Conference) to explore climate justice, collective action, and community-centered solutions across higher education.
Here is a mix of photos from the official WOHESC collection as well as moments captured by University of Oregon attendees. The trip offered an inspiring opportunity to connect with peers from across the region, learn from innovative sessions, and reflect on the role universities play in advancing equitable and sustainable futures.

We are saddened to share the passing of our coworker Debra Morris, who passed away in March. Debra worked as a custodian on swing shift, serving CPFM and the campus with dedication and care.
Debra was a valued member of our team, and her contributions helped keep our facilities welcoming and running smoothly. She will be missed by those who had the opportunity to work with her and get to know her over the years.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Debra’s family, friends, and all coworkers who are grieving her loss. Please keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Knight Campus Building 2 Ribbon Cutting |
|
|
On March 19th, Hoffman Construction hosted an event to celebrate the completion of Building 2 with the project delivery team. The team is made up of design professionals, special inspectors, trade partners, craftsmen and women, apprentices from all trades, and various campus partners. Team members have been working on project delivery anywhere from 6 months to 5 years, so it is an exciting time for the team as well as the research community moving in. On March 30th, the building opened to the public, coinciding with the first day of spring term. The ‘Riverfront Bistro’ will open at the end of April, serving coffee, breakfast, and lunch.

I wanted to give some thanks for, who I assume is, your swing shift plant operator (Nick). We had a large steam leak in the basement at 10:30 PM on Friday night, and he was able to help us isolate/mitigate the issue so that we can make a permanent repair today.
Please let him know that his help was much appreciated. -Kevin Farthing

It was a last-minute request and you totally came through for me! Thank you! – Anonymous (Staff)

I just wanted to pass along our appreciation for the new improved cleaning on the 2nd floor of Pacific. It's noticeably better in the restrooms now and the timing (and quality) of the hallway cleanings and trash changes is a great improvement as well.
Many thanks for the change-up and kudos to whomever is doing the work now, it's much better than it's been in quite some time.
Much appreciated! - Alison Coluccio

Thanks for fixing the sink so quickly and letting me know when it was done! – Anonymous (Student)
