Hi Neighbor!
Â
What happens when six women go out to lunch?
Â
Magic!
Â
And conversation. Lots and lots of conversation!
Â
This is exactly what occurred when the amazing, smart writers for Main Line Neighbors got together for lunch. We could not stop conversing. It was wonderful and magical and cathartic.
Â
I have been a contributing writer for this well-established Main Line online presence since January, yet I had only met two of the writers in person once, a mere month before I started this sweet gig. So, when the lunch date was set, I gingerly walked into the restaurant searching for a table of women because frankly I had no idea what the majority of these wonderful writers looked like. They were easy to spot because the conversations were already well under way.
Â
Welcome to the world of virtual work, right? My adult children experience this every day - working from home in isolation, virtual meetings scheduled throughout the afternoon, BUT no in-person lunch conversation for them. While we can all be efficient and accomplish our work independently, there is no replacement for the face-to-face sit down and chat session I experienced at our lunch.
Â
Don’t get me wrong. I love the work I do. Give me a deadline with some parameters and I am going to deliver. I work and create at my own pace on my own schedule, but it requires working in isolation, which suits a writer’s work. In turn, this is why the lunch gathering was such a delight.
Â
Which brings me to my REAL point. READ MORE

PCOS & the role of Inositol Isomers
Â
Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) is a common cause of female infertility affecting more than 5 million women in the US. Many women experience irregular or no menstrual cycles along with high levels of insulin resistance and androgens, which are hormones like testosterone. While the treatment approach is complex involving medications, nutritional supplements, and diet & lifestyle changes, one supplement has emerged as a mainstay.
Â
Isomers of inositol, a common B vitamin, named Myo-inositol and D-Chiro Inositol are often combined for their synergistic action on promoting insulin sensitivity and decreasing resistance. These isomers also support normal blood glucose metabolism and promote hormone balance. By aiding in hormone balance, regular menstrual cycles often follow. Other benefits include hair growth, weight loss, and liver detoxification. Dosages can often be high and is the main reason most products on the market are found in powder form. Other nutritional supplements often paired with Myo & D-Chiro Inositol include alpha lipoic acid, berberine, methylfolate, coenzymeQ10, polyphenols, omega 3 fatty acids, and taurine.
