Student Pre-arrival/Re-entry:
1. ALL students, regardless of vaccination status, who will be accessing campus in any way during the spring semester are required to provide proof of a negative COVID test administered within five days prior to arrival.
This includes any student who has an in-person class or lab, will participate in on-campus activities, is living on campus, or will access any college-owned facilities, including the library and dining venues.
We know that tests are in high demand, and we recommend you act now to make an appointment to get your test within five days prior to your arrival.
Pre-arrival test procedure:
- Acceptable tests include PCR or antigen (rapid) tests available at health care clinics, pharmacies or testing locations found on the state's test site finder. The only at-home test brand that the college will accept is BinaxNOW.
- Test results must be uploaded to the online pre-arrival screening tool within five days prior to your arrival. The document you upload must include your name, date of birth, the date the test was administered, and the result. (Anyone using the BinaxNOW at-home test must write their name, date of birth and the date the test was taken on the test kit, then take and upload a photo of the kit and their government-issued ID next to each other.)
- If your result is approved, you will get a green checkmark on the pre-arrival screening tool. Please bookmark or screenshot this page and be prepared to show your green check upon arrival to campus.
- If you do not provide proof of a negative test prior to your arrival, you will be dropped from your classes for the semester.
- You should self-quarantine between when you test and when you arrive on campus.
- We will share check-in information closer to the beginning of the semester.
(If you have tested positive for COVID in the past 90 days and have recovered, you can provide a copy of your positive test result in place of the negative test for re-entry.)
2. Students should get a COVID vaccine booster as soon as they are eligible.
We anticipate that, within the next few weeks, SUNY will require that all students living on-campus or accessing campus facilities receive a booster dose. The CDC and the state of New York are also considering changing the definition of "fully vaccinated" to include a third dose (booster). Getting a booster now will prevent having to get one in the middle of the semester or rushing to meet a deadline. Employees are also encouraged to get a booster as soon as possible.
