Thank You for Being the Best You

At Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, we respect the rights of each individual girl and adult member to make their own decisions. The meaning of girl-led has never been so prominent.

Girl Scouts strives to help each girl tap into her leadership potential to develop the courage, confidence and character to make our world a better place. As an inclusive organization, we believe in striving for equality for all girls while building strong, empowered girl leaders along the way.

We'd like to share this video with you that we know will only inspire you to continue doing the great work that you do; and that is, supporting every girl's right to voice her opinion and make her own decision.

Your girls can't thank you enough for being the best you, and we're right there with her.

Don't Forget: Membership Dues Increase
Starting Oct. 2017 - Sept. 2018 Membership Year

As you may recall, in March 2016, the Board of Directors for Girl Scouts of the USA voted to increase membership dues for girls and adults by $10 beginning with early bird registration this Spring 2017 for the October 2017 – September 2018 membership year.

Why an increase? Because girls are worth it! At Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan, we believe girls will change the world, and we remain committed to serving all girls who wish to participate in Girl Scouts.

Every dollar of Girl Scout national membership dues is sent to Girl Scouts of the USA to cover shared services including program development, research, and digital resource to improve the Girl Scout experience for girls and volunteers. Girl Scouts gives girls the opportunity to develop leadership skills they will use for the rest of their lives - all while having fun, getting outdoors, and meeting their best friends!

You're the Expert: Songs

Think back to when you first started your Girl Scout troop. Remember being a new leader trying to soak up as much information as you could before your first Girl Scout meeting?

Now, many meetings later, you’re more experienced than ever and advanced in all things Girl Scouts. You’re the expert, and your troop has the opportunity to help their sister Girl Scouts! We’re working on collecting an abundance of resources for our girls and volunteers by our girls and volunteers.

First up: songs! Record a video of your troop singing their favorite song(s) and send it over to us!

Share Your Adventures: Community Service Projects

Is your troop working on a community service project that’s sure to inspire the world? Were you recently featured in your local news(paper), radio or a blog? We love seeing all the amazing things that you and your Girl Scouts are doing, and we want to hear all about it!

You could be featured on our social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Our Girl Scout Press Corps and/or Communications team may also be reaching out to you to conduct interviews and take photos/videos of your troop.

Check out the video above as an example of Troop 30625, who shared their community service project with us!
