In the fall, the Office of Institutional Transformation released its 2023-2024 annual report. Producing such a document was quite the undertaking and required the collaboration of many to capture all of the work being done to build a local instantiation of the Beloved Community here at the University of Notre Dame. 

I invite you to review the annual report to learn more about the University’s progress and identify ways that you can support the daily work of institutional transformation.  

I also ask that you join me in recognizing our friends across campus whose data and efforts are reflected in the annual report —  the Athletics Department, Enrollment Division, Division of Student Affairs, Notre Dame Human Resources, the Office of the Provost, and the Office of Undergraduate Education. They are outstanding partners who believe deeply in the University’s mission, and they responded with great enthusiasm to our request for Academic Year 2023-2024 updates. Within the pages of the annual report, you’ll learn more about how they’re helping to ensure that students, faculty, and staff feel at home here and have every opportunity to succeed.

The Office of Institutional Transformation — in partnership with Notre Dame Human Resources and the Office of the Provost — is pleased to announce the second annual Inclusive Leadership Colloquium Lecture Series (ILCLS). The series brings insightful and innovative leaders in diverse, equitable, and inclusive strategies to Notre Dame, where they will share ideas, best practices, and inspiration based on their research and experiences. 

Three sessions will be held during the spring semester. Limited space is available. Register by Jan. 15.

The 2024 documentary A Case for Love is available for screening by members of the Notre Dame community. Interested students, faculty, and staff may contact the Office of Institutional Transformation to learn more. 

Inspired by the teachings and writings of the Right Rev. Michael Curry, who recently completed a nine-year term as presiding bishop and primate of The Episcopal Church, the film explores the impact of living selflessly and loving others, especially when it’s difficult to do. Interviews with notable figures like Transportation Secretary Pete Buttiegieg, historian Jon Meacham, and TV personality Al Roker are included alongside commentary from the general public. Subjects explored include racial justice, sexual identity, military service, politics, disability, and food justice.
