Dear Global AI Community, |

As spring continues to blossom here in Vermont, it feels like Mother Nature is continuing to awaken from her winter slumber. This morning I was greeted by a symphony of bird songs as I walked to my car, and I saw the first purple bloom bursting forth in my garden. Soon I know, there will be enough flowers to re-awaken one of my favorite insects for their pollination rounds—the bees.

Bees have come to symbolize many things in various cultures, including hard work, cooperation, abundance, and how small creatures can have a big impact. Bees have also inspired a wide array of literary quotes, one of my favorites comes from Matshona Dhliwayo, who said:

If Appreciative Inquiry were to have a symbol, perhaps the bee would be a contender! As we know, AI is not about the perfect…far from it. Rather, it is about finding the gift in any moment regardless of what shape in which it comes.
Here at the Cooperrider Center, we are enjoying leaning into the metaphor that the bee invites. We are excited to continue building our global “hive” of Appreciative Inquirers through things like our Facebook page, our monthly webinars, events like the upcoming AI Jam, learning opportunities and our soon-to-be-launched new podcast which we hope helps to nourish all of you who are creating honey in the world with the work you are doing. We are also particularly enthusiastic to also be a cross-pollinator of people, projects, and possibilities though our ongoing work as a co-publisher with Kessels & Smit of the AI Practitioner Journal and a co-convenor of the Earthshot OD track at the upcoming OD Network Summit. Below are more details for some of the exciting flowers blooming in our global AI garden that we love pollinating. We hope to see you buzzing around with us somewhere soon!

LEANING INTO IMPROBABLE POSSIBILITIES
|
As spring buds bring life to once bare branches and pollen for the bees, the possibilities that this new season hold are inspiring and optimistic. In the United States, March marks both the beginning of the Spring Equinox and the end of the NCAA college basketball season- March Madness. This year's tournament was a prime example of improbable possibilities. Check out how Dr. Lindsey Godwin found inspiration in March Madness, and what she has to say about leaning into the psychology of possibility through questions in her new Psychology Today Essential Read!

| Cultivating Connections: Global Inspiration. Local Activation.
Drawing inspiration from the last Jam's European in-person gathering, we would love this year's Jam to connect regional informal in-person gatherings (where possible) in addition to individuals joining us virtually! You can join hosts of last year's European gathering at an upcoming webinar on April 21st to discuss the jam and share ideas about how we might enable regional gatherings.

In May 2023 we will launch our new website! We're aiming for a much improved user experience, as well as a "Blog" that better curates and lifts up AI's best resources, case studies, publications, and toolkits.

We are in the midst of interviewing and editing our new podcast, Inspiring Impacts! The goal of this audio experience is to elevate the stories of where and how Appreciative Inquiry has had meaningful impacts on people and organizations. Guests include Ron Fry (AI founding thought leader), Cindy Stull (Dealer Tire), Liz Vogel (Moffitt Cancer Center), and more! First episode drops in June 2023.
