Zonda HomeAid 2025 Housing Economic Outlook Breakfast to be held on November 8, 2024
We are thrilled to announce that on November 8, HomeAid America will once again partner with Zonda, a trusted leader in the housing industry, to host the Zonda HomeAid 2025 Housing Economic Outlook Breakfast. This event will offer invaluable insights into the future of the housing market while raising critical funds to support our mission of ending homelessness.
Zonda, a proud partner of HomeAid America since 2001, shares our vision that better homes lead to better lives and stronger communities. Their dedication to data-driven housing solutions has made a significant impact on our efforts to provide shelter and support for those experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The keynote address will be delivered by Zonda's Chief Economist, Ali Wolf, who will explore the projected housing market trends for 2025. This will be an incredible opportunity for our industry to come together, learn from one of the top experts, and drive forward our collective efforts to make a difference.
We’re honored to have the continued support of Zonda’s CEO, Jeff Meyers, who also serves on HomeAid America’s board of directors. "Zonda is so proud to be a part of HomeAid. Homelessness is a huge issue in America, and there is no group better to help solve it than the home-building industry. HomeAid is supported by the best and brightest leaders in our industry and continues to make a positive impact," said Meyers.
Over the past decade, Zonda has helped raise over $1 million for HomeAid through this annual economic outlook, their Frame events, and other initiatives.
Partnerships like the one we have with Zonda are critical to our work. Together, we are not just building homes—we are building hope, resilience, and a brighter future for those in need. We invite you to join us on November 8, 2024, as we work to build better homes, stronger communities, and a future without homelessness.

Bringing the Issue of Homelessness into Focus
Did you know?
Nearly three of every 10 people experiencing homelessness (28% or roughly 186,100 people) did so as part of a family with children. The number of people in families with children who were experiencing homelessness increased by more than 25,000 people (or 16%) between 2022 and 2023, ending a downward trend in families experiencing homelessness that began in 2012. This overall increase in the number of families with children experiencing homelessness between 2022 and 2023 reflects a 17 percent increase in the number of families with children experiencing sheltered homelessness (24,966 more people).

HomeAid Affiliates have a Powerful Impact on their Community through the HomeAid Care Days
HomeAid’s most significant impact over the past 35 years has been through its construction projects that house those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. However, the impact made through its community engagement programs also makes a huge difference in communities across the nation.
HomeAid Care Days brings together many individuals and organizations in communities to do light facility improvement projects such as painting or landscaping.
Recent HomeAid Care Days
HomeAid National Capital Region was delighted to be at Catholic Charities, where volunteers from Thompson Greenspon participated in a HomeAid Care Day! We extend our heartfelt thanks to these dedicated volunteers for their hard work in cleaning, sorting, and organizing the food pantry and toiletries closet.
Catholic Charities is committed to providing perishable and non-perishable food items to individuals and families experiencing homelessness and those in low-income households in Alexandria City and the surrounding areas.
HomeAid Colorado and the incredible team at Redland participated in HomeAid Care Day at BeyondHome! This ambitious team took on 5 projects, including indoor painting and demo, as well as parking lot striping and decal painting!
Because of Redland's compassion, dedication, and teamwork, the residents served at BeyondHome will enjoy a fresh, renewed space as they embark on their next chapter toward a brighter future.
Volunteers from Strack, Inc. joined a HomeAid Atlanta Care Day at International Women's House as part of Strack Gives Back, a company-wide community service day. Volunteers from Atlanta PWB joined the Care Day as part of NAHB Professional Women in Building Week, a celebration of women as an important component of the residential construction industry.
HomeAid Atlanta had the pleasure of working with our friends Toll Brothers for a HomeAid Care Day, where they built a new checkout counter and rearranged the shelving to allow St. Vincent de Paul Georgia serve more neighbors in need in their food pantry.
The heat wave didn't stop the Lennar Portland team and HomeAid Portland from having a productive day at the Family Promise’s Bridge to Home shelter in Tigard, for a successful HomeAid Care Day.
They spread gravel to improve an outdoor seating area, built a platform for parking bikes, and fenced a future dog run. Family Promise houses families (and their pets) in a former motel, and we are excited to tackle a list of projects that will help improve the residents’ lives.
HomeAid San Diego and Swinerton brought together over 20 volunteers to paint TERI Inc. (Training, Education & Resource Institute)’s Marshall House in Vista, a home to six adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. HomeAid San Diego is excited to support this project and is grateful for the community’s teamwork!

"The House That She Built" by Mollie Elkman and Georgia Castellano
"The House That She Built" by Mollie Elkman, with illustrations by Georgia Castellano, is an empowering and beautifully illustrated children’s book that tells the inspiring story of a home built by an all-female construction team. Based on a real-life project by the Utah Chapter of the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Professional Women in Building (PWB) Council, the story shines a light on the important roles women play in the construction industry.
This book introduces young readers to a diverse group of female professionals—architects, engineers, electricians, landscapers, and more—who work together to build a house from the ground up. By highlighting the various skills and talents involved in the project, "The House That She Built" challenges traditional gender roles in a male-dominated industry and inspires young girls and boys to see a future where women are leaders in construction and beyond.
For HomeAid, the themes of empowerment, inclusion, and teamwork in this book are especially meaningful. As we work to build homes and provide support for families and individuals experiencing or at risk of homelessness, we also recognize the importance of advocating for diversity and equal opportunity in the building industry. "The House That She Built" aligns with our commitment to fostering inclusion and uplifting women in leadership roles, both within our organization and in the broader community.
By encouraging girls to see themselves in roles that help shape communities—whether through architecture, engineering, or construction—this book inspires the next generation of builders who will be essential in creating safe and stable homes for those in need.
We highly recommend "The House That She Built" for families, educators, and anyone passionate about promoting diversity in construction and housing. This uplifting story of teamwork and empowerment is a wonderful way to inspire young minds to think about how they can contribute to building strong, inclusive communities.
