Join Us for Spring Fling April 25

Join the Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District and the Ken-Caryl Parent Network in celebrating spring and Earth Day on Saturday, April 25 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Ranch House Park! We’ll have family-friendly Earth Day activities all day. You can also enter the family Frisbee Golf tournament hosted by the Ken-Caryl Ranch Foundation at 11 a.m., catch Music for Kids by Eric West at noon, learn about our open space and KC Nature programs, check out the fire trucks and fire safety information from West Metro Fire Department and the Colorado State Forest Service, or do some yoga, Zumba or Kindermusik on the stage. There will be plenty of ways to get dirty and get back to nature!

"Not Just Electronics" Recycling Event May 9

Ken-Caryl residents, get rid of your unwanted electronics, appliances, televisions, large trash items, scrap metal, paperwork, tree limbs, latex paints, household items and tires from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, May 9 in the Ranch House parking lot. Many items will be recycled for free, but there are fees (CASH OR CHECK ONLY) associated with several types of items. There are new limitations on TVs and paper shredding this year. Please see our Recycling Event article for a list of items that can be recycled, along with the fee, if any. Also, volunteers are needed the day of the event to help direct traffic and assist residents. If you are interested in helping with a two-hour shift, please see our Volunteer Sign-Up Form.

KCRMD Receives 2015 Local Park and Recreation Grant

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District (KCRMD) was awarded a 2015 Local Park and Recreation Grant from Jefferson County Open Space for $54,250 for installation of a new playground at the Community Center. The new playground has been planned as part of the bond improvement projects for the Community Center campus and will be a new, separate playground from the current smaller playground serving KCRMD’s preschool program. The new playground will be designed for children 5-12 years of age and will be located in a separate area of the campus from the current preschool playground. It is estimated the grant award will fund approximately 35 percent of the total cost of the playground. Construction of the new playground is scheduled to take place in the spring of 2016 in conjunction with the site development of the Community Center campus bond projects.

Revised Bond Project Plans

The schematic design plans for the Community Center, Dakota Lodge/Ranger Station, Ranch House, and Parks/Playgrounds/Landscaping/Signage are posted on the Bond & Improvement Projects page. These plans have been updated following the March 18 Open House using input received that evening. Updates will be posted to the page as changes are made, so we encourage you to check back often. The schematic design will be presented to and discussed by the Master Association and Metro District Boards at the Joint Study Session on Tuesday, April 7 at 6 p.m. at the Ranch House. The Design Team will be seeking the Boards' endorsement of the design to allow them to move to the next phase of the project at this meeting. Everyone is welcome to attend the meeting. You can send comments or questions about the bond projects to bondprojects@kcranch.org.
