Did you know the ASRS provides two informal educational opportunities that you can facilitate for your employees? Informational Sessions and ASRS participation in your Benefit Fairs are effective ways for ASRS members to learn about their benefits without having to commit to attending a long meeting.
The Informational Session consists of a brief overview of the defined benefit plan and formula, various member benefits, and the importance of the myASRS secure account. This meeting can be 15-30 minutes and the material can be shortened or expanded to meet the needs of the audience. An Informational Session can be a great addition to an employee development day or as a stand-alone event. The minimum number of attendees required to schedule the meeting is 20.
The ASRS can also attend your Benefit Fair. ASRS Benefit Advisors will staff the table, provide educational handouts, and answer general questions for members. Most Benefit Fairs do not include a formal presentation by the ASRS, but that can be incorporated if you request it.
These are helpful ways to engage and inform employees about their benefits with the ASRS.
