Less than a day after more than 100 parents filed suit challenging the draconian vaccine and mask dictates imposed by the City of New Orleans, Attorney General Jeff Landry petitioned a court to have the State of Louisiana intervene in Andrews v. Cantrell. As part of the case, subpoenas were issued for the Mayor and School Board President. After they were served, the Mayor had a choice: lift her mandates or face even more public scrutiny, including criticism of her choice to go maskless while requiring others to mask. Fortunately, she chose the former. This win was made possible because of brave parents and guardians who stood up and held their local leaders accountable. As Attorney General Jeff Landry has said: parents know how to best care for their children, not the government. We will continue to fight alongside them in defense of their right to make medical decisions for their children.
