Hello, Fellow Artists,

I hope this finds you well and keeping healthy!  It continues to be an interesting world out there and I don’t know about you, but I’m ever grateful for both being able to continue creating as well as experiencing others' artwork.  Speaking of that, please be on the look-out for the upcoming three- dimensional exhibition.  It is stunning!  And I look forward to the 96th Annual exhibition, as I know it will be equally wonderful.

The summer party was a great success and I look forward to the upcoming member meeting.  It is always nice to connect with kindred spirits.  'Til then, I wish you ease.

Warmly,
Shaney Watters

Member Dues
Dear PSA Members,
As we move into the early autumn, I am writing to remind many of you that your dues are still outstanding.  In this newsletter you will see a variety of exhibitions and member opportunities.  Your dues must be paid before you can submit entries for any of the upcoming exhibitions.
We encourage you to pay your dues, if at all possible.  We understand that the extra funds needed for your dues may not be available.  If you are experiencing financial difficulties, consider contacting me at  kds4psabiz@gmail.com.  PSA is open to working with you so that you can exhibit in our shows, as well as other events and opportunities.  Your communication with me will be completely confidential.
As always, you can pay online through our website or by check mailed to:
Pasadena Society of Artists
P.O. Box 90074
Pasadena, CA  91109
In September we will start having in-person membership meetings again!  Details will be given in the newsletter.  Another way to stay in touch with PSA is to join the PSA4MembersOnly Facebook group!  It is a great venue for showing your art to other members at no cost to you.
We’ve also extended the use of "Member News" so that you can post your latest work and get the word out about non-PSA exhibitions you are in.   Please note that your dues must be paid in order to participate in the "Member News" artwork posts, too.
All members also have the use of our Instagram account to promote their work.
And don’t forget our outstanding website!  This is a great time to update your artist profile. Make the most of our many website/profile visitors!
Thank you for your continued support of the Pasadena Society of Artists.  If you feel you have paid your 2021 dues already, please contact me with the date and method of payment.
My best to you and your family, and to your studio practice.
If you have any further concerns, contact me at kds4psabiz@gmail.com.
Sincerely,
Kathleen

Off the Wall
Here’s the latest from the Exhibition Committee.

“Exploring the Three Dimensions of Art” opened online  September 1.  Visit ISSUU.com or the PSA website to view all of the latest three-dimensional artwork from the studios of PSA artists.
Looking ahead to October is the opening of the 96th Annual Juried Exhibition, juror Dr. Mika Cho, at Whites Fine Art Gallery in Montrose October 15.  The Artists' Reception is Saturday, October 16, from 2 pm to 4 pm.  Awards will be presented around 3 pm.  The full-color printed catalog will be available for purchase at the reception.  The 96th Annual wil also be online at ISSUU.com starting October 15. Volunteers are needed to help install the 96th Annual on October 15.  See the 96th Annual Call for Entries for additional information.
PSA starts 2022 with all exhibitions being presented online, plus 2-3 exhibitions in galleries.  The first exhibition will be the New Members Showcase, online.  Other exhibitions scheduled for 2022 include the 97th Annual Juried Exhibition during May at the Betsy Lueke Creative Arts Center Gallery in Burbank, an Artist’s Choice Exhibition at Whites Fine Art Gallery in Montrose, an open juried exhibition in Sierra Madre at Creative Arts Group Gallery, and one or two other online exhibitions.  All exhibitions will include printed catalogs.
Since PSA started presenting exhibitions online, a total of 15,504 have viewed the online presentations.  This alone is a good reason to participate in PSA exhibitions from now on.
The Exhibition Committee wants to thank Alison Davies, the editor for all of the catalogs; Karen Hochman Brown, the Art Director for the catalogs; Debbi Swanson Patrick, Director of Communications; and Leah Knecht for her expert assistance with Smartsheet.  The exhibitions would also not be possible without all of the members who participated with their amazing artwork.  A big THANK YOU to all!
See you in October at Whites.

Art Supplies for Kids”
2021 Holiday Campaign
Thinking about supporting the "Art Supplies for Kids" Holiday Campaign?  Now might be the best time to purchase a whole bunch of brand-new art suppiles at the “Back to School” sales.  The children and teenagers this campaign supports need crayons, coloring books, sketch books, watercolor sets, drawing paper pads, charcoal pencils, pastels, markers, beginning acrylic paint sets, brushes for watercolors or acrylics, colored pencils, and so much more.
"Art Supplies for Kids" also accepts cash or check donations.  There is a PayPal button located at the PSA website under “Get Involved” then "Donate."  Checks can be mailed to:
Pasadena Society of Artists
P. O. Box 90074
Pasadena, CA  91109
Please indicate on your donation check “Art Supplies for Kids.”
Thank you very much for your continuing support for the children of Homes of Hope Foster Care/Adoption Agency.  Your donation of art supplies will make a child's holiday brighter.  All donated funds go directly to the support of the children.
